For the Celebrezze Federal Building Plaza, ­the workplace of 4,000 people, OLIN’s design goal was to create a memorable place that could aid the renaissance of downtown Cleveland. Due to exposure of gusty winds from Lake Erie, the central design concept was to create an urban forest. Together with landforms and low walls, the forest forms a protected microclimate while creating an inviting and popular destination.
