Clothing nature in fantasy, a fairy-tale vertical garden rises in the woods at a French summer garden festival. No fewer than 16,000 artificial silk flowers are attached to ribbons and wrapped, like tapestry, in six-metre-high bands around a cluster of tree trunks in one of the park’s forests. The artificiality of the flowers reflects the constructed nature of landscape, with the choice of silk poetically referencing the historical importance of Lyon’s textile industry.
