Hargreaves Associates collaborated on the design for ExxonMobil’s new campus with Pickard Chilton as Design Architects, PDR as Campus Programmers and Interior Architect, and Gensler as Record and Interior Architect.  The complex, which is comprised of multiple low-rise buildings, is designed with sustainability and site restoration as key features of the plan for this wooded site.  The campus was designed to high standards of energy efficiency and environmental stewardship, and particularly capitalizes on the possibilities of creating indoor and outdoor places that will foster interaction and collaboration amongst employees in their daily work, as well as support their health and well-being.  The project was designed to create a physical environment that will support innovation and inspire creative thinking.  A site design pattern based on circuits gives form to pedestrian movements and rainwater catchment systems, where water is directed into rain gardens that are integral to the promenades that branch from the central quad, the high point of the site, in each cardinal direction.
