The goal of the redesign and supplementation of the open-spaces is to highlight the diverse historical utilisations and their superimpositions and to make them tangible and perceivable in a new way. The planning area includes the zone of the new building and the conversion of the fortified monastery.

The open space reflects the complex superimpositions, the historical layers of time, in a minimalist way. The rooms have a simple appearance and an appealing ambience. Reduced to the historical sketches, not only will the other open spaces be distinguishable in a different way but also the former church interior. This includes the former castle church, the churchyard, the pastor’s courtyard and the flower patio, the prison compound and the monastery cloister, Wall am Marstellsteg.

A fascinating composition of interior and exterior spaces was created in close collaboration with Studio Andreas Heller, Architects & Designers.
