Orchard Town Center now lies where farm houses, apple orchards and homestead gardens once existed. Playing off the area’s history, Orchard resembles a small town; complete with low-scale buildings, narrow streets and a Town Square which provides the gathering spot for the citizens. Steeped in history, Orchard invited local artists to create public art such as painted murals, decorative tile work, ornamental metal work and sculpted features to highlight the rich agrarian past. Additionally, the “Prints of Pride” program was done so local children and their pets could make imprints on tiles that are attached eight-foot tall apple slices for eternity to see in Town Square. Proceeds from the program were given to local charitable organizations like the Westminster Legacy Foundation.
