Riverdale Country School, established in 1907, is located on two wooded campuses in the Bronx. MNLA has been engaged in planning and design services at both campuses since 1994.

An important component of this institution’s environment is the athletic opportunities for students. One of the three existing athletic fields, the Frank J. Bertino Memorial Field, was reconstructed to meet New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) competition regulations. MNLA conducted a detailed feasibility study for its renaissance and led the team that prepared renovation construction documents for the playing surface, fencing, restroom facilities, and bleachers. The playing surface is a synthetic turf with an organic infill; striping for multiple sports such as football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey is imbedded into it. A subsurface detention system is designed to handle runoff for the field as well as the area immediately surrounding it.
