MVLA’s work on the campus of the Episcopal High School (EHS) has touched many scales of this private boarding school in Alexandria, VA.  The EHS campus has a clear hierarchy of building types and use zones. The central core is a tightly knit set of buildings that support a collegiate atmosphere within the pedestrian-scaled campus. MVLA has strengthened the cohesive campus character with finely detailed projects that include the entry gate and drives, walks, and gardens.  Work includes the school’s athletic center addition, a new library plaza, and a raingarden adjacent to athletic fields. A campus-wide tree planting program (600 trees) enhances the existing landscape armature and improves the ecological framework of the grounds.
