Fletcher Studio worked closely with the Veteran’s Administration to develop a plan for the park that would serve their therapeutic and programming needs. The park is the site of the only Memorial to Women Veterans in Southern California. The northern portion of the site includes two rose gardens and an existing tiled Moorish fountain. The main plaza, in the middle of the plan, is flanked by two Citrus Groves which each have four hummingbird gardens. The southern site is a continuous hummingbird garden. The East Rose Garden has 25 different white rose types, with climbing red roses. The West has the opposite arrangement. Two linear water features create a line of water that continues through the main Moorish fountain plaza. The small therapeutic gardens can be seen in the Citrus Grove and hummingbird gardens to the South.
